Digital Preservation
International Journal of Social Science, Educational, Economics, Agriculture Research and Technology (IJSET) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, integrity, and accessibility of all published content. To safeguard the scholarly record against loss, technological changes, or service disruptions, IJSET applies multiple digital preservation strategies.
1) Preservation Services
IJSET uses recognized preservation networks to maintain redundant and secure copies of published content, including:
-
LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
-
CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS)
-
PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) (for journals using OJS)
These services support distributed archiving, enabling content restoration and continued access if the journal website becomes temporarily or permanently unavailable.
2) Preservation Scope
The preservation coverage includes:
-
Published article files (PDF and other publication formats, if available)
-
Supplementary files (datasets, appendices, instruments, etc., when provided)
-
Article metadata (authors, titles, abstracts, keywords, references, and identifiers)
3) Integrity and Version Control
To preserve content integrity:
-
Published files are maintained as the Version of Record.
-
Any corrections, retractions, or updates are issued transparently through formal notices linked to the original article.
-
Preservation copies retain the publication history to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
4) Platform and Backup
In addition to external preservation services, IJSET maintains:
-
Regular backups of journal databases and files on the OJS platform
-
Controlled access to the journal management system to reduce the risk of unauthorized changes
5) Access Continuity
If the journal website is not accessible, preserved content may be restored and made available through preservation networks in accordance with journal policies and applicable regulations.
