Withdrawal of Manuscript
Withdrawal of Manuscript Policy
International Journal of Social Science, Educational, Economics, Agriculture Research and Technology (IJSET) allows authors to withdraw manuscripts under certain conditions. This policy is intended to maintain fairness in the editorial process, protect the integrity of peer review, and prevent unethical practices such as duplicate submission.
1) General Principle
Manuscript withdrawal is permitted only with a written request from the corresponding author and must be approved by the Editor-in-Chief. A manuscript is considered under IJSET editorial ownership once it has been formally submitted through the journal system.
2) When Withdrawal is Allowed
Authors may request withdrawal when:
-
The manuscript contains a serious error discovered after submission (e.g., invalid data, incorrect analysis, ethical issues).
-
There is a proven conflict of interest or ethical concern that cannot be resolved.
-
The authors decide to substantially revise the work into a different study (major change in scope/objectives).
-
There are unavoidable administrative reasons (e.g., institutional restrictions) supported with explanation.
3) When Withdrawal is Not Allowed
Withdrawal requests may be rejected if:
-
The manuscript is being withdrawn to submit to another journal without valid reasons while it is still under review at IJSET.
-
The request is made after the manuscript has been accepted or is in final production/layout, except for exceptional ethical or legal reasons.
-
The withdrawal is intended to avoid revision, criticism, or unfavorable editorial decisions.
-
There is suspicion of misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data manipulation, duplicate submission). In such cases, IJSET may proceed with an ethical investigation.
4) Withdrawal Stages and Conditions
-
Before peer review: Withdrawal is generally allowed after editorial approval.
-
During peer review: Withdrawal may be allowed, but authors must provide clear reasons. IJSET may decline withdrawal if the review process is near completion.
-
After revision decision: Withdrawal is discouraged and will be approved only with strong justification.
-
After acceptance / in production: Withdrawal is normally not permitted. If withdrawal is granted for ethical/legal reasons, IJSET may issue a public notice if necessary to protect the scholarly record.
5) How to Request Withdrawal
The corresponding author must submit a request to the editorial office containing:
-
Manuscript ID and title
-
Full names of all authors
-
Reason for withdrawal (clear and specific)
-
A statement confirming that all authors agree to the withdrawal
IJSET may request supporting documents when necessary.
6) Confirmation and Status
A manuscript is considered withdrawn only after the author receives written confirmation from the editorial office through the journal system or official email. Until confirmation is received, the manuscript remains under editorial processing.
7) Sanctions for Unethical Withdrawal
If an author withdraws a manuscript without approval and publishes/submits it elsewhere while under review at IJSET (duplicate submission), IJSET may:
-
Reject the manuscript and record the case internally
-
Notify the authors’ institution (in serious cases)
-
Impose a submission ban for a defined period, depending on severity
